Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), based in Hyderabad, has started a new program that helps students learn and earn at the same time. On July 7, 2025, BRAOU signed an agreement with the Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) to launch a Stipend-Based Apprenticeship Programme (SAP). Under this program, students will get hands-on experience while also receiving a monthly stipend between ₹7,000 and ₹24,000.

What Is BRAOU?

Note: A combined admission notification will be released soon on the website. Officials will also visit all BRAOU study centers across Telangana to explain the process.

The Vice-Chancellor of BRAOU, Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, said this is the first time such a program is being launched with RASCI. He believes this will help students build real-world skills along with their academic knowledge. University officials will also visit study centers in Telangana to inform students about how to apply.
James Raphael, Executive Director of RASCI, shared that the program will help students become confident, skilled, and independent. The program is created in such a way that it prepares students for the job market with a balance of education and work experience.
